Lucy is a 2014 film directed by Luc Besson, starring Scarlett Johansson, Morgan Freeman, Choi Min-sik, and Amr Waked. It is an amazing science fiction film, fast moving and thought-provoking.

The film has an abrupt start when Lucy and her boyfriend Richard are seen arguing about something. The film then moves fast and Lucy then stumbles upon an unexpected and unwanted ‘job’. The film then evolves on how Lucy tackles her ‘job’. We are also introduced to Professor Norman who helps Lucy in her ‘job’.

The visual effects of the film had to be fantastic else the film wouldn’t have been worth watching. I must say that the visual team has done a pretty nice job on the VFX.

The sound effects in the last scene were next to perfect. The cinematography was good as well.

The film makes us rethink about all the knowledge we acquire in our lifetime and how we do not utilise it even though we are given the opportunity to do so. Neither do we pass all of it on. In this regard, I highly respect all of our teachers, who try their best to pass on all of their knowledge.

I found this film highly interesting and even after watching it I did not feel sleepy (I usually feel very drowsy after watching a movie, regardless of how interesting it was, and I finished watching this movie at around 3 a.m.!!!) My mind was rerunning parts of the film and it took me a while to fall asleep. The film was highly stimulating and gets you thinking about all the knowledge you acquire, how you should pass it on and consider it your duty.

I would recommend all of you to watch this movie.
