Iron Man

Iron Man

Iron Man is the first film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is directed by Jon Favreau. The star cast includes Robert Downey Junior, Gwyneth Paltreau, Terrence Howard and Jeff Bridges. It was released in 2008.

Tony Stark is introduced as a man who is a comical, extremely self-centred man but nevertheless, is a prodigy and is also shown to be a precocious child in the beginning of the film. He is also shown to be a playboy. However, one trip to Afghanistan and he realises that his life is being wasted away as he manufactures weapons. He then diverts his focus on protecting the people by not manufacturing weapons but by devoting his time in developing stuff that is actually better for the world. The film focusses on the transformation of Tony Stark- the CEO of Stark Industries (which specializes in weapon- manufacturing) to Iron Man.

Considering the fact that the film was shot in 2008, the visual effects and the sound effects of the film are exceptionally good. The script, direction and acting are brilliant. I found the second half of the film a little more appealing than the first, even though it moved rather quickly.

I would like to say that the acting of Gwyneth Paltreau was brilliant. I have seen her act in several movies but whenever I see her or hear her name, I am reminded of the role played by her in this film.

I have got to mention that I loved the badass nature of Tony Stark and that is one of the best things of his character.

The film is, as we all know, a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So if you want to watch all the films in the series, you obviously have to watch this film. But if one is watching this film in a solitary way, not intending to watch all the films in the series, I would say that it is a one-time watch.
