The Upside of Falling
The Upside of Falling is a novel written by Alex Light. It is a romance novel.
Becca Hart is a seventeen-year-old who does not really believe in love, especially when it comes to giving sacrifices for your love, considering the fact that the odds that one stays with his/her love forever are really low. Ironically enough, she devotes her free time reading love stories. Now, accidentally she lands into a faux relationship with one of the most popular guys in the school Brett. The story is full of ups and downs but it is adorable.
When I began to read the book, I thought that it would be like To all the Boys I’ve Loved Before. I won’t decline the fact that it is not at all like the novel but it does have an independent story of its own which is not bad; in fact it is rather good.
I could relate with Becca a little bit. Like her, I love reading romance novels and this has heightened since last year when I had gone through a break up. Reading romance novels makes you feel good and it is actually therapeutic. So, to all the people who are broken hearted, you should read romance novels and it works like therapy. For me, most novels work as a mood lifter.
There was just one part which I did not like Becca. That was when she began throwing her books away. I was hurt and aghast. What kind of cold-hearted person does that? But otherwise, I liked both Brett and Becca very much.
I will not exactly push you to go and read this book…. it is up to you, whether or not do you want to read it. It is sorta different and fun to read.
