The Legend of Bhagat Singh: The biopic of one of India’ bravest freedom fighters [Independence Day Special]

The Legend of Bhagat Singh

Hey Guys! This Independence Day I watched a movie based on the life of the great revolutionary Bhagat Singh. He was an influential freedom fighter and played a very important role in the freedom struggle of India.

The Legend of Bhagat Singh is a 2002 film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Ajay Devgan, Sushant Singh, Raj Babbar among others.

The film shows the life of Bhagat Singh, who was born during the reign of British India. It also rightly demonstrates the atrocities of the Britishers on the Indians and how they plundered away India’s wealth.

The actors performed very well in the film. Ajay Devgan and Sushant Singh played their roles extremely well.

The music of the film was also outstanding. The song ‘Mera Rang De Basanti Chola’ is a song revered and remembered by Indians till this date.

The film inspires patriotism and love for motherland in each of its viewers. It also displays the facts correctly and that is commendable. It is indeed distressing to see how the Britishers used to treat Indians. Indians were put into the same league as dogs. And do you know why? Just because of our colour. It is indeed disheartening to see that the mindset of people hasn’t changed after nearly a hundred years. This shows that we may have modernized but the mindset and thinking pattern of human beings hasn’t really changed a lot.

I also find it very disappointing that the achievements of Bhagat Singh and his comrades have been undermined in our textbooks, and we are not shown the complete history related to this legend. He had achieved great heights in his short span of life. He lived for his motherland and he died for his motherland at the young age of 23 years.

It is an excellent film ,a must watch for all patriotic Indians to know the untold facets of Indian History. For others ,it’s upto to them to decide whether or not do they wanna watch it.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I would now like to shed some light upon India’s independence struggle.

India was enslaved by the Britishers for nearly 200 years. Britishers initially came to India as a business company but soon conquered Indian territories rendering all the emperors and dynasties of India powerless. The first war of Independence was fought by Indians in 1857 and this was the first time India put up a united front against the British. However, the rebellion was crushed. Soon after this, India’s first political party, the Indian National Congress was formed. And thus began the Indian freedom struggle. The freedom struggle was adorned by major movements and events such as the Kakori Conspiracy Case, Non-Cooperation Movement and the Quit India Movement. There are countless others, but due to word restrictions , I am unable to put them forward.Several Indians gave sacrificed their well being and gave their lives for the cause of freedom. The most prominent freedom fighters of India includee Rani Laxmi Bai, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Gandhi and Nehru.

Countless men and women have devoted their lives to India’s freedom cause

This is a very brief description of the Indian Freedom Struggle. I just wished to pay a tribute to all the leaders of India, because of whom, Indians live as they do. We still have a long way to go and our energy is limitless. We wish to make a mark in the world and so we shall.

To conclude, on the 74th Independence Day of India, I wish to thank everyone who has helped in the Indian Freedom struggle and it is indeed due to them that India has placed a spot in the world. They are the people who have given India a kick start.
