Wrapping 2020 and beginning 2021!

A very happy new year to all of you! I know, I am posting kinda late according to Indian Standard Time, but it has been a long day. So, this is basically a wrap up of 2020, books and blogging wise and a plan of how 2021 is going to go! But, before I begin, my new year resolution is to lose all the weight I gained during the past 9 months and give it my best to getting into a good college. I am not sure what I am going to do, but I do hope to get into a good university and major in Maths. But, I want to also keep blogging and reading and cooking/baking and all my other hobbies up, so we will see if I can manage everything!

Wrapping 2020:

So, I started blogging in March and I literally did not think I would continue to blog until 2021. I expected the lockdown to lift and my life going back to normal. But, as it turns out, this little place is like a safe little haven for me now and I honestly hope I can keep this place forever and ever more!

I have posted quite a few posts and stepped out of my comfort zone in writing some. My favourite posts are:

  1. Reacting to Bookish Memes
  2. Things that irritate or motivate me as a blogger

I especially enjoyed writing discussions and tags!

We also reached 300 followers, so thank you for that! (Current tally: 316)

As for books, I read about 120 books this year (give or take a few). I do have a Goodreads, but I began using it in April, so it isn’t adequately updated. However, I do have a handwritten list and were I not ashamed of showing how poor my handwriting is, I would have shared it here. However, if anyone wants to see, let me know and I will email the pics to you!

There weren’t any 2020 movie releases I want to spotlight. I watched a few films though.

As for the music this year, I think Taylor Swift’s two amazing albums were the best. I also loved Ed Sheeran’s Afterglow, which was released recently, I think.

So, I guess that is all I wanted to say about 2020.

Beginning 2021!

So, for 2021, I would like to keep up the work I do on my blog, and improve it more if I can. I want to write more discussions but I am not sure if I will be able to do so in the near future as all my ideas have vanished into the air. Poof!

I am looking forward to the blogger interviews since I have enjoyed reading the answers that have come to me. I also am hoping to come up with more interesting ideas so as to increase audience engagement.

As for books, I am hoping to first get rid of my physical TBR and then move on to all popular books I haven’t read. There are three books I am really really really really really excited for- Sunkissed by Kasie West, You will be the Death of Me by Karen M. McManus and The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon. It won’t be possible for me to read as much as I read this year, but I want to be able to read 50+ books at the very least.

There are also two English movies I am excited for- To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 3 (I can’t wait to see more of Noah Centineo. Yes, I have a crush on him- get over it already.) and The Kissing Booth 3.

As for the music, I hope for more Taylor Swift music to come out! I am also hoping for a One Direction reunion- I have my fingers crossed.

Other than that, I hope to better my social media presence. I am on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads and Wattpad, but none of them stand out when I compare them to other bookish people’s profiles. I haven’t been all that active on Goodreads either, and I have so many unread notifications! So, I need to work on that too!

Also, I am hoping to finish my Wattpad novel this year (The third chapter’s out now by the way, please do read, like, comment and follow :)!)

So, those were my goals for 2021! What are yours? A very happy new year to you once again!!!!! I hope you have a great year ahead, not just in books and blogging but otherwise too!! Talk to me in the comments and do tell me your New Year Resolutions!

  1. Hey Riddhi!
Your link to the Wattpad story says that there’s no chapter 3. Idk, just thought I’d mention that. I did go on the Wattpad app, but there’s no new chapter.
Anyway, have an amazing year and keep reading!

I don’t think I’ll be able to get the answers to you this time around (sooo sorry about the late response, a lot has been going on the past few weeks 😕), but I can’t wait to read everyone’s answers!
