Hey everyone! Today, I will be interviewing Pannaga from over at Just Dreamland. I am super excited, as she is a friend of mine. Let’s get right into it!
Me: Tell my readers something about yourself.
Pannaga: Ok, there are many things about me, like I am from India. I hate pizza. And I am currently going through the phase every single teen might be going through: super angry at the world! But one thing not many people know is, I GOOGLE, everything. Like every single thing! I google how to make friends(not always useful) I google books(every day) I google about BTS( every second) I google answers during online exams(I bet most of you do it) Yeah, so the list goes on…
Me: Oh, well, I like googling stuff too! Why did you start blogging?
Pannaga: I came across blogging by accident. I really wanted to do something and so I Googled (yup, I Googled) what a 16-year-old(I’ll be 17 by the time this interview is posted) can do. And blogging was one of the many Google’s answers. So I started it. Just Dreamland was the name I kept only because of Sarah Dessen’s book ‘Dreamland’. No reason other than that. Blogging was what I could do. I always used to write poems. So I thought, why not publicize it. And the rest of the story, you know 🙂
Me: Well, that’s a fascinating story, honestly! What motivates you to continue blogging?
Pannaga: Likes, comments, and reviews motivate me to continue blogging. Other than that, it makes me happy. It is a wonderful way of making new friends. And I value friendship a LOT!
Me: That’s true! What do you blog about?
Pannaga: I blog poetry and song reviews(sorta) for now, and I also recently started doing book reviews!
Me: Yeah, I really enjoy your content! But everything has its ups and downs, so what is one thing you don’t like about blogging?
Pannaga: It’s very distracting. All I should do is a study now. But blogging has become so important to me, that I constantly think about what should I post for the next day, 🤷what poem should I write, etc etc. And time is one big problem!
Me: Oh, don’t worry, that’s happened to me too! The excitement, the adrenaline rush will eventually die down, trust me. Like, not too much, you will still be motivated, but it won’t be the thing you will you think about all day long. So, do you read? If yes, then what are your favourite books?
Pannaga: Yup, I read. All I do other than blogging is reading. My all-time favorite books are The Giver quartet(They are awesome. If you haven’t read it, you are really missing out!), Harry Potter series, Percy Jackson series (like all of them), The Princess Diaries, Jeffrey Archer’s short stories, Kane and Abel too, etc, etc Oh, and I love Kasie West’s and Sarah Dessen’s books!! They are THE best!
Me: Oh, those are some really great choices- I see some of my favourites in there too! What are your favourite genres?
Pannaga: My favorite genre is Contemporary and YA fiction. They are my favorite because I can relate to them and understand why something is happening. Some stories, I can totally relate to makes me think that I’m not the only one going through something. I enjoy reading fantasy too. They are like the escape from the real world. Also, I love mysteries!! Ok, so I like everything except classics. They are pointless is what I feel!
Me: I get why you feel that, but I personally don’t think so. I guess they just give us a peek into how life was back then, you know? They are definitely more interesting than history! So, do you listen to music? Who are some of your favourite artists?
Pannaga: Yup, I listen to music. It’s a must-have in my life!! BTS, Taylor Swift, Alan Walker, Maroon 5, Selena Gomez, and Charlie Puth are some of my favorites ️and BTS is my favorite of favorites. They are THE best. They inspire me, motivate me, console me, they protect me from my own self. They taught me to be happy, taught me that it’s ok to be sad. They bring something in me that I haven’t seen myself( this is a bit over the top, I know). They are like the brothers I never had. Oh, and recently, I have been listening to Why Don’t We, thanks to Riddhi and Nehal for recommending their band. They are really good.️
Me: The thing you feel for BTS, I feel that for Why Don’t We, honestly. I mean, I love them a lot, and will probably date them, if given the choice, but they fill my day with such positivity, and they are all such good people! Okay, I can talk about them for an entire post, but we need to continue. What are your strengths?
Pannaga: I am brave. Not like adventure-istic brave(is that even a word) But like, I can talk to a stranger. Go and live alone in an unknown city, go talk to the strictest teachers, etc. You get what I’m telling right? I’m worldwide brave girl, you know(pun intended) I’m that kind of brave and sometimes I also tend to be weird which is one more thing that I like about myself. “Sometimes, broken is beautiful.” (It’s from BTS’ “Fly to My Room”) Also, I can make friends easily. Yeah, sometimes I impose myself on them just because I like them. But they always learn to love me in the end 😀
Me: Oh, I sometimes feel brave like that too, but in the end, I am a very weird person. What are your pet peeves?
Pannaga: I don’t like it when people talk about something they have not even experienced. Like for example, “Why would anyone want to do that” I hate this sentence!! And I hate it when people say they dislike something when they know that the person they are talking with likes it. Like, “BTS is overrated”Like, who asked their opinion? Why can’t they keep it to themselves?
Me: 😂😂. So, what are some of your hobbies?
Pannaga: My hobbies are: singing, reading, writing, complaining, crying, shouting, laughing, watching BTS videos, watching BTS videos again, watching their videos again and again❤
Me: Oh of course, I get that (My hobby is watching Why Don’t We videos). So, dogs or cats?
Pannaga: Eww!! I hate animals. Especially cats, they look like they are planning a murder and are gross( this is what I feel. No offense cat lovers). Dog’s are cute, but I am scared of them. If you want me to choose between dogs and cats, I would choose dogs. But I’m not a great fan of them.
Me: I am sorry, I am really judging you hard right now. Animals and plants are like the sweetest creatures in the world! Especially dogs! They come with all the benefits of a human being, without the interaction! Anyhow, I must learn to live with people who have different opinions, so well. And you did choose dogs, so I am proud of you for that. Moving on, good things that happened to you in 2020?
Pannaga: 2020’s when I got to know about BTS. I could link all my answers to BTS, but I really don’t want to do it. Because I know, you will either get bored or you will start rolling your eyes every time I mention them! So ok, I completed 10th grade. And I completed my exams before lockdown. So I could really enjoy the holidays!! Oh, I also read many many many many books. Like I used to complete reading at least two books a day 😀
Me: That’s cool! So, who are your role models?
Pannaga: Ok, so I have different role models for different things. I look up to my music teacher when it’s about music. She’s really great!! I look up to my friends when it comes to fashion which I really don’t understand. I look up to my English teacher when it’s about writing. (**whispering** I look up to BTS too)Yeah, so the list goes on.
Me: I like clothes and stuff, (like not love, big difference), but I don’t get a thing about makeup. There are so many things, and so many of my batchmates use them, and I am like h u h. Anyhow, lastly, feedback for my blog?
Pannaga: Your blog is really good as it is!! I used to think you didn’t post much, but you really do:) But I do have a request for you. Please read the Giver quartet(I know, this is like the 100th time I’m asking you to do so!) Please!! Pretty please?!! ( ** whispering again** Also, listen to BTS)
Me: Oh, I will, I will, I promise!
And that’s all for today folks!
