The Music and Me Tag

Hey everyone! I am back with another musical tag! I was tagged for this by Pannaga @JThe Tomboys’ Attic. She has an awesome blog and a sweet personality, so do check her blog out!! Also, sorry for getting to this so late!

Let’s get started!

The Rules

  • Link back to the original (Sophie @ Me and Ink) so she can see your answers and listen to the tunes.
  • For every prompt you choose to do, name 1-5 songs (you can use Sophie’s graphics)
  • Have fun and play your music LOUD!

I am not using Sophie’s graphics, but you can check Pannaga’s post out if you wanna use them!

Home Town Glory: The songs that remind you of home

I am gonna go with For You by Why Don’t We, because it is about being loyal, and that is what home is about you know? I also feel like Beginning, Middle and End by Leah Nobel is a song that reminds me of home.

If This Was a Movie: Favourite songs from movies/tv/broadway

I am gonna go with I’ll Always Remember You and Wherever I Go, from Hannah Montana. Now, I watched this show a long time ago, and while I am not the biggest fan of Miley Cyrus, I do like the music of the show. And oh, I love the title song of Wizards of Waverly Place.

It’s a Love Story: Your favourite songs about love

Oh, Love Song by Why Don’t We definitely is on top of the list. I also like You Belong With Me, by Taylor Swift. Why by Sabrina Carpenter and I Like Me Better are cool love songs too!

Comfort Crowd: Songs that make you feel calm

Look, all music makes me feel calm. Even Especially if it has a good beat. But, Wonder by Shawn Mendes, Gone by Jose Audisio Stand By Me by Skylar Grey and Be Myself by Why Don’t We, top that list.

Always remember us this way: Songs that remind you of your childhood

There really aren’t any songs that remind me of my childhood because A. I spent most of my childhood with my nose buried in books and I haven’t come across a song that talks about books and B. I discovered the joy of music when I was 12. Before that, I did listen to music, but it wasn’t a lot.

Let’s Get Down To Business: Songs that motivate you

Kill This Love by Blackpink, hands down. There is also this song called Best Day of My Life by American Authors which I really like. I also find Hall of Fame motivating.

Old Town Road: Songs from the past(like really old ones) that you love

Oh, I like The Reason by Hoobastank and Wake Me Up When September Ends.

Cry with you: Songs to make you cry and cry

Supermarket Flowers by Ed Sheeran and Grey by Why Don’t We.

I think I’m in love: Your latest musical obsessions

In case I haven’t made this perfectly clear before, and if you didn’t take a hint from this post, I will say it again- WHY DON’T WE!!! I am absolutely obsessed with all their music. I LOVE ALL THEIR SONGS! Their voices have such a depth, and their voices together are GOLD.
I also like Olivia Rodrigo, Ava Max and Conan Gray!

Writer in the dark: Your favourite lyrics from songs

Oh, there are so many! I will list them henceforth:

  1. I come back stronger than a 90s trend- Willow by Taylor Swift
  2. It isn’t love, it isn’t hate, it’s just indifference- I Forgot You Existed by Taylor Swift
  3. I got no time to deal with your negativity- Perfect by Why Don’t We
  4. If the sky falls I will catch it, just to steal you a star- Free by Why Don’t We
  5. We are dancing on the edge, of anxiety’s ledge- Be Myself by Why Don’t We
  6. I promise that I will love you for the rest of my life- Black and White by Niall Horan

Sign of the times: Songs in the charts that you love

Okay, so I don’t really follow charts and stuff, but I do know that drivers license was on the charts. And I absolutely love it, so I am gonna go with it!

More than a memory: Songs you have specific memories attached to

Okay, so there are four- Havana by Camila Cabello, Gorgeous by Taylor Swift, Sugar by Maroon 5 and Fallin’ by Why Don’t We.

Sing to me instead: Those songs you have to sing to

Aaah, there are so many again!!! Well, I am not mentioning any Why Don’t We or Taylor Swift songs, or else you will all get bored. But I am saying I have to sing along to a lot of their songs. Besides their songs, I gotta sing Maniac by Conan Gray, Lie Lie Lie by Joshua Bassett and Live While We are Young by One Direction.

I wasn’t expecting that : Songs you didn’t expect to love, but you do

M.I.A by Why Don’t We, Nice to Meet Ya by Niall Horan, Closer by The Chainsmokers and Shape of You by Ed Sheeran.

Favourite record: Name the albums you couldn’t live without

The Good Times and The Bad Ones by Why Don’t We for sure. (Don’t tell me you didn’t see this coming.) Folklore, reputation and Lover by Taylor Swift.

Video Games: Name your favourite music videos

Umm… I love the music video for Trust Fund Baby, Delicate and Something Big by Shawn Mendes.

Shut Up and Dance: Songs you have to dance

Lotus Inn by Why Don’t We is definitely one of them. Happy by Pharrell Williams is another one of them.

  1. Hmm, I might just try this tag and see if I can put a mythical/folk spin on it! It looks really fun.

Now that you mention it, that’s true, there aren’t a lot of book- or reading-related songs. Maybe some filk songs, like “I Fell Asleep (Reading the Silmarillion),” but no big pop hits that I can think of.
