Blogger Interview with Rachel!

Hey guys! Welcome or welcome back to my blog!

Today I will be interviewing a blogger whose posts I very much like, and I am stoked to have her here! It’s Rachel from A Bookworm’s Paradise! Do give her a follow since her posts are super entertaining and fun to read!

Without further ado, let’s get started!

Me – Tell my readers a bit about yourself and your blog. Why do you blog about the topic you blog about?

R – Umm hi (*awkward hand wave*) I am Rachel and I am an alien. Kidding. (my introduction skills are sub-standard at best) I am just another teen – Asian by ethnicity, ISTJ by personality, Aries by zodiac and book lover by nature. My hobbies apart from parentheses-ising (yes, as a verb) are reading (duh), watching TV, playing badminton, doing math etc etc. Soo, I run a book blog and it’s called A Bookworm’s Paradise. I blog about books because… well, what else can I go on about all day? I’ve always felt the need to express my opinions on the books I read or scream about favourites in general and a blog is the perfect place to do just that.

Me- That’s a lovely introduction Rachel, I do not think your introduction skills are sub-standard, they are pretty good! So, since you mentioned your blog, what about your blog, or blogging in general, you most and least love?

R- The thing I love most about blogging is the community. Practically none of the people around me read, so it is so satisfying when I have someone who has read the same books as me and we can shout it out or roast it together. Every single person I’ve found on the blogosphere has been incredibly sweet and supportive, and I was surprised to see myself making so many friends here! (I am absolutely terrible at making friends or even talking to new people in real life and barely have a couple of friends, so this is a considerable feat!)
The thing I love least would probably be how hard it is to find the right audience for your posts. I know my readers will (hopefully) increase with time, but I really would like to have more people read my content.

Me- I definitely agree with you on both of the choices! I am so happy to have one person who literally has the same bookish taste as me, and it’s amazing! As for the small audience, I am pretty sure that it will increase, since your blog’s so good! But, I agree, even if your followers and likes increase, the people who actually read your posts are super low. Moving on, what’s your favorite thing you own and why?

R- Oof that’s a difficult one…there are a lot of potential candidates. But my Kindle, some of my paperbacks and hardbacks and my laptop would probably top the list.

Me- Ah, yes, I can barely go a day without opening my laptop. Where do you hope to be 5-7 years from now?

R-  I haven’t really given this much thought. Half a decade later would probably be when I start earning, and I would VERY much like to have a job that has to do with books, but that would be highly unlikely.

Me- That’s the ultimate dream though, isn’t it? A job that has to do with books- it’s honestly a pity that people don’t appreciate books so much and thus, don’t create book related jobs. So, if you could travel in 1. any era 2. any place, when and what would that be?

R- (*the history nerd inside me awakens*) Oh I can’t choose one! Perhaps Germany during WW2? Or France during the storming of Bastille and the consequent revolution? India under Akbar? There’s just so many!!

Me- Haha, yeah, I see and understand! What do you do when no one else is around?

R- Pretty much what I do when people are around. That is, read, study, blog…

Me- Me too! I mean, parents are like don’t go crazy and stuff, and I am like the only crazy thing I am going to be doing is pining after characters that don’t even exist! If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

R- Chocolate! More specifically, dark chocolate because it is obviously the best kind of chocolate that exists. (I probably won’t survive very long and will regret my choice but whatever)

Me- Oh my god, honestly, I cannot eat dark chocolate, I hate how bitter it is! I need sweetness and savouriness (Is that a word? Probably not….) in my life! If you were going to get a tattoo, where and what would it be?

R- Ehh I am not much of a tattoo person. But if I did get a tattoo someday, it would probably be a quote from a book I love (what do you think about “No mourners no funerals” guys?). Location? Arms, definitely arms, anywhere else would look weird.

Me- Ooh, ‘no mourners no funerals’ sounds pretty cool. So, what is something you wish more people knew about you?

R- Well, perhaps the fact that I am quite strong academically would not be known by a lot of people here. Like I am in 9th grade, but am learning a lot of things (in math and science especially) that go wayyy beyond my age level. Aand now I am just bragging.

Me- That’s so cool! And here I am, in the 12th grade, struggling to learn the bare minimum….. Anyway, dogs or cats?

*Cue suspense music*

R- Dogs dogs dogs! I mean, recently I’ve begun taking a liking to cats too (I generally limit myself to kittens) but I have always been more of a dog person. Getting a pet dog would be a dream come true, and I am definitely fulfilling this dream once I grow up. Maybe I’d get a few rabbits too, perhaps a tortoise as well…?

Me- Oh gosh, me too!! I mean, I want a dog so so so bad! Like the best birthday gift someone could give to me is a dog this year, honestly! And well, I would like a pet squirrel too, I mean they are so adorable! And here’s the last question…. I can’t believe this interview’s coming to an end: What was your experience of doing a guest post on my blog? Any feedback for my blog?

R- Okay this was awesome! Some of those questions really got me thinking. Riddhi your blog is obviously wonderful, and you’re nothing short of a celebrity here on the blogosphere haha. Thank you for having me!

Me- O-kay, the celebrity thing might just be stretching it, I have a pretty normal blog! And it was a pleasure having you Rachel! I had fun reading your answers!

And that’s it people!! Thanks for reading, and let me know which answer of Rachel’s did you like best!
I will see you on Monday with a guest post, actually, so stay tuned for that!

  1. This was such a fun interview guys! While I’m not so sure whether I’d want to go time travelling with you, Rachel, I definitely agree with Riddhi that your introduction skills are pretty awesome! 😉 And sweetness and savoriness is totally a thing, Riddhi! That’s why you need to eat dark chocolate with a marzipan filling… it’s the best combination ever 😍😍😍
