Hey guys! Welcome or welcome back to my blog!
So, this tale began one fine day, when I was watching BookTube. I was scrolling, watching videos, when I saw one video titled Reacting to hilarious Goodreads reviews by The Book Leo! And that’s when I thought of doing this variation of it. And then, my brain chanted- Do this on your blog! Do this on your blog! Do this on your blog!
As you know I listen to my brain as far as my blog is concerned, so well, some four months later, I am here trying this out!
Here’s the video I got inspiration from:
Note:
1. I am not spreading hate- everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I respect that.
2. This is just for fun, and I am not trying to hurt anybody’s feelings.
3. There might be spoilers, but I will indicate the books where there are spoilers. So, well just keep a lookout for that.
Book 1: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie
Okay, this is hands down my favourite Agatha Christie book ever, and while I love it, I understand others may not, so let’s go and find a good bad review.
So, according to Mr. Mark Samuels, the most important thing of a book is its vocabulary, and of course not the plot, the characters and the writing style. I mean, all those aspects are for novices, of course! Oh, and let’s not mind the fact that the vocabulary used was actually good, and not bad at all.
*Spoiler alert*
And of course, unreliable narrator is a trope that isn’t loved at all! Who even reads that, it’s for the lowly people!
*Spoiler finish*
Book 2: Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
I was shattered after reading this, and while I haven’t picked its sequels up, I am excited to do so!
Um, excuse me Autumn, are you out of your mind? I mean, I literally read other reviews, and they actually had valid points for not liking it, but are you serious? For one thing, Lou was genuinely a nice person, who cared about Will, and Will was not her sugar daddy! I mean if I could reach through my computer screen to you, I would shake you so that you realise how beautifully this book is actually written. As for the hand feeding thing, Will was a specially abled person, and you know, you sometimes do good things for such people, especially when you are their caretaker.
Book 3: The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez
This was a book I had heard a lot about, and went in with extremely high expectations, and those expectations were satisfied!
Hi Renee, so um, there’s this thing called liking a person, and when you like a person you do go to lengths for them, and you try to understand they might be going through shit. As for the constant game playing, again, there’s a thing called liking, and when you are in that phase, you don’t want to hurt the other person, which is why you hide the truth, which I’ll admit is wrong, but well, it is human nature, you know?
As for the ending, hey, we readers love a happy ending, and while it was unrealistic, unrealistic endings are why we read books!
Book 4: Cinder by Marissa Meyer
I mean, come on, everyone loves this book right? Turns out, not really!
How? Like literally how? This book is literal eye candy, and there was legit so much going on. SO. MUCH. I mean, I can’t tell stuff, but peeps who haven’t read the book, don’t listen to this guy, there is so much going on in the book! Things be going on right and left. As for the fact that you don’t know who she was, there’s a reason there’s a series, you know? You unravel the character as you go. It is not a stand alone, hun, so hold your horses and read on.
Book 5: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
Okay, so this has been on my list of favourite books for over a few years now, so I love it with all of my heart, and I can’t wait to see what the haters have come up with!
How can you not care about Cath? Like she’s a good person- she was there for her sister even though she was a total bitch to her. Like Cath is awesome. And you see, you weren’t supposed to like Wren and her mum, so yeah you are supposed to know that. And duh, Levi was a good guy! But he’s not the only good thing you know? I guess you aren’t an introvert, so I guess you can’t relate with Cath’s anxiety. Good for you, I guess.
And those are all the reviews I’ll be reacting to today! Let me know down below in the comments if you enjoyed this post, and if I should do a part 2 of it! Which well-loved book do you hate? Chat with me in the comments!
Not gonna lie
I came here immediately to see if there were any reviews of mine
Boy do I write some embarrassing shiz
I might forgive the other reviews but I won’t forget the one who wrote that review for Me Before You
Sugar Daddy?!?! Seriously?!?! And she’s taking care of him wtf?!!?
You are not obliged to like anyone who likes you
I wrote a rant for Cinder—
I wasn’t a fangirl of Fangirl—
I didn’t like Cath….

I found this post really enjoyable. One book that I hate that many people I know loved is Watership Down. It was a struggle for me to finish it, and I didn’t really get the point when I was done. I can’t understand how people hate Cinder, though!

There’s always a few popular books that we don’t like but honestly some of these reviews and reasons were just odd. Great post though!

I really want to read Cinder and I loved FanGirl to be honest!!
I am also an author and recently received my first one star review on Good Reads, but the worst part is they never left any comments!! I’m not one to give anything below two stars (rarely below three to be honest) because I know how much work goes into writing.
I just think every book has SOMETHING good about it!

Oh, what books have you written?
And yeah, me too, I think my lowest rating was like 2 stars or something!
Thanks for reading!

Oh, the ones for Fangirl and Roger Ackroyd seriously hurt 😭 How can you not like Cath when she’s literally the most relatable person ever? And what was that weird complaint about Agatha Christie’s vocabulary?
As for Me Before You, I wasn’t too big of a fan, so I actually thought that review was kind of funny 🤣

Lol I love reading rant reviews – sometimes I just go to good reads to search for them! (And get spoiled in the process haha) I haven’t read any of the books mentioned here though I might want to start on something of Agatha christie:’s! What’s the best book of hers to start with?

Ok, gods, we need a part 2!!! The roasting was everything 😁😂 and I don’t get why people don’t like fangirl. I’m not a big fan of it. But it’s not a bad book.
