Blogger Interview with Esha!

Hey Guys! Welcome or welcome back to my blog!

Today, I’ll be interviewing a very amazing yet underrated blogger- Esha @Felix Felicitated! The name of her blog is so awesome as well, right? So, go show her some love y’all!

Let’s get on with the interview!

R- Tell my readers about a bit about yourself and your blog.

E- Hello and Namaste.
I am Esha and I run the blog Felix Felicitated! I am a girl in her mid-20s, currently based in India. I did my Masters in English Literature back in 2019 and now work in a Digital Marketing firm. I love reading, writing, photography and swimming (although, thanks to COVID-19, I have not been in a pool for 2 years now).
My love for writing manifested into this blog. My first-ever blogging experience was in high school. Thankfully, that is locked safe and sound in some corner of the internet. I made Felix Felicitated back in 2017 when I was looking to apply for Masters and it was a really stressful time for me. I managed to churn out 6 posts over 2 years after that. However, in December 2019, I decided to get more serious about it and be more regular with blogging. I haven’t stopped since. My blog became a form of escapism – now I write about books, mental clarity, movies and other stuff, not because I have tips to share but because I am on a journey myself and want to share it with others, who are willing to listen (or read, in this case).

R- Ah, I feel like most people blog to escape the real world. What about your blog, or blogging in general, you most and least love?

E- The writing part is the most enjoyable. I almost feel like a professional writer, typing away on her laptop in a coffee shop her room. My least favourite part is the social media strategy (albeit, I do not have one). I am really bad with social media and hardly spent time there. Therefore, when I share my work there, it is like I am just there to ask people for something instead of bonding with them. I would love to be more frequent on social media and naturally bond with people rather than just showcase my work there. It is a work in progress.

R- Ah, don’t worry I am really bad with social media as well- my blog Instagram account isn’t good at all! What’s your favorite thing you own and why?

E- I am so chuffed to answer this! I had my birthday in August and as a gift to myself, I got a Kindle! I have wanted a Kindle since 2015 but could not at that time, as it is a bit pricey for a student like me. However, this year I succumbed to the desire and have been loving it! I am also reading more books. I read a lot in bed, I use the Kindle first thing in the morning and last thing at night. It is a blessing for a bibliophile like me.

R- Ooh, that sounds amazing! Where do you hope to be 5-7 years from now?

E- Oh boy! I get nervous whenever I come across this question. I hope I will be living in my dream country with my partner and have a great and fulfilling job, possibly in academia, haha. I plan to keep blogging and perhaps have a podcast too with a co-host. A dog and a cat as pets are definitely a must!

R- Ooh, the dog as a pet thing sounds amazing Which celeb would you want as your other BFF and why?

E- Daniel Radcliffe. I just think he is cool, open-minded and thoughtful. He is a logical fellow and I would love to know about his beliefs and preferences. And have you seen his sprouting out the lyrics to Blackalicious’ “Alphabet Aerobics”? How cool is that?!

R- Ah, yes, excellent choice! If you could travel in 1. any era 2. any place, when and what would that be?

E- When you say an era, it feels like in the past haha! But to be honest, I wanna travel to the future. Mainly because we have recorded documents of the past but we cannot say the same for the future. Therefore, I would like to go, say 200 years from now and see how much the world and technology have changed and affected our lives. I do not have a particular place in mind. Sure, we can see the changes with relation to the past too, like the Renaissance, the French Revolution or since you mentioned eras, the Mesozoic Era (justice for dinosaurs, by the way) – few things that fascinate me, but we can still read about and live through the words (and paintings). We cannot say that for the future.

R- Well, to be honest, I am a little conflicted about travelling to the past or the future- but the future definitely sounds more intriguing! If you were going to get a tattoo, where and what would it be?

E- I have a few options in mind. But I wanna get a tattoo of birds escaping their cage on my back. It is a bit symbolic as I believe we all have our own demons we are trying to escape from. When I read Jane Eyre, the words – “I am no bird; and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will, which I now exert to leave you.” – got imprinted in my mind and that is how I came to think of this tattoo.

R- That’s so deep and profound, Esha! And it’s a lovely choice for a tattoo! Dogs or Cats?

E- AAAAHHHHHHH! I love both and would like to have both as pets one day! Sorry, but I can’t choose!

R- Oh, well, that’s okay! Lastly, What was your experience of doing a guest post on my blog? Any feedback for my blog?

E- I love these interviews as they are a gateway to know about other people and connecting with the ones sharing similar interests and hobbies. Thanks for having me and I really enjoyed answering your questions and reminiscing about certain things. And I cannot wait to read the other guest posts either!
I love your tags and bookish posts. They are really fun to read. You are fairly regular with your blog posts, which is also something I love since I am a fan of consistency.

R- Thank you so much Esha, for participating in this, and for those kind words!

And that’s it for this interview! Do you like cats more or dogs? Let me know in the comments!

      1. Tbh, I share your opinion about cats 😉 But I can tolerate them fairly, unless they refuse to stare at me the way they do and act like they’d kill me if they could 😒
