Discussion Post | Types of followers we all have.

Hey everyone! Welcome or welcome back to my blog!

So, today I will be discussing some types of followers we all have and know. Period.

  1. The Goldfish: The ones who follow you and forget you exist.
These are the most common type of followers everyone has. These people follow you, and then forget that your blog exists. They don’t even click on the post and read it. Which brings me to our next kind of followers….
  2. The Lurkers: The ones who read your post but don’t comment or like it.
Okay, this is the second most common type of followers I have. My posts generally have like 100-150 views and the number of likes- 40-50? On a good day, that too. What about the rest 50% of the readers? They lurk. Or don’t like my posts.
  3. The Bats: The ones who like your post without reading.
Like bats fly without their eyes, these people like without using their eyes, and just using the cursor to hit that like button (Like bats use echolocation). They like 50 of my posts within a minute and that’s either amazing reading skills or well, ‘echolocation’. Some of these people also hit the follow button, and then like every single post you put out, without reading!
  4. The Forgetful Kind: The ones who comment but forget to hit the like button.
I don’t get why these people do this? I mean I do not mind the comments- I love them, but could you please like the post? Pretty please?
  5. The Affiliate Marketers: Oh good lord, no for the last time, I don’t want to purchase your products!
The amount of people who like my posts and then comment about some product I can buy using their link is unmeasurable (Is that a word?). My spam comments is flooded with these comments, and blegh- it’s bad.
  6. The Users: Oh, here, use my blog to get popular and then feel free to forget me!
Aaah, okay, so when I did the blogger interviews, obviously, a bunch of people signed up and stuff- a lot of them new bloggers. They gave the interviews- liked my posts till the interview got published and then it was like- oh wait, who are you? Do I know you? etc. etc. But, oh well.
  7. The Overenthusiastic new comers: You Need to Calm Down (TS pun intended)
Okay, so like, I love you guys, but seriously, calm down. These guys comment on all of my posts (including old ones *major cringe*). And well, I am free for the next one week, but sometimes I am not free and I wanna respond to their comments (and emails, if any) asap, but I can’t, and I just feel bad, and then it’s just… good and bad at the same time.
  8. The Occasional Poppers: The ones occasionally like my posts.
I know I post a lot so I don’t really mind these. And most importantly, they actually read my posts!
  9. The Regulars: The ones who like and comment and read almost all of my posts. a.k.a the best people!
Well, I am pretty thankful to these people for making my blogging journey the way it is. I would never have been here had these people not been there, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. These guys support me and stand by all blog related decisions, so thank thank thank you!

And those were 9 types of followers we all know about! I hope you enjoyed the post! Let me know what other types you can think of in the comments!

P.S.- I wrote this post and like published it instantly after I don’t know how many years. It feels good, ngl. Also, I don’t wanna offend anyone, the post’s just sorta kinda a joke

  1. I am the regular one!
    Nice post Riddhi!
I don’t get any spam comments in the first place as I keep them off for most of my posts. And, I think I will write a post like this too when I get more followers. Right now I don’t have many as I started the blog in August.
Overall, the post is awesome! 👏🏻

  2. Ahhh this is amazing! I love reading posts like this! AAAAH! Ok. Honestly sometimes I like without reading the post at all cause I’m like, I don’t have time to read it, but they posted and I saw it so I should like it cause I’m sure its a amazing post lol.
Oh and also I must say the human book club is doing rlly well, I read all the posts and they are amazing! Some are even relatable! I haven’t commented on any of them cause idk what to say apart from interesting story, I hope that the person is ok and situation is fixed, amazing advice(its always the best advice) and that u r doing an amazing job with it!

  3. I’m kinda uncertain which group i’m LOL
But this is relatable, I mean the part where you mentioned about affiliates and things. It’s a bit annoying when the comment has literally nothing to do with the content.

  4. Yo the lurkers are serious confusion xD I assume it’s something with the WordPress reader? Or maybe people who find posts from a search engine and don’t have any account to Like/ Comment with? Maybe? 😂

  5. A lot of fun to see the different types of followers! I mostly have the goldfish type and don’t think I’ve ever had an overenthusiastic new comer haha at least they’re friendly though which is always welcome haha

Your posts are great and often, as you stated, which is also great!

  6. This is so relatable. I think I am an occasional popper as I don’t use wordpress regularly these days. But I do take time to like and comment on posts that appear on my reader whenever I do come to wordpress. Awesome post!!

  7. I love this post 😂 It’s very relatable! Honestly the Regulars are the best 😂 I think I am an Occasional Popper? Because I use wp for only 1 or 2 hours for writing, reader and all those stuff so I don’t reaaalllyy be regular to any blog 😂

  8. Loved the bat metaphor so much. It was so on point. Also, regulars are indeed the best ones out there!
I’m the occasional popper right now, but I’m also the forgetful kind sometimes 😂

  9. Lololololol, this is one of my favorite posts you’ve done in a while 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, it’s so accurate!! I think the ones constantly spamming me with links are the ones who annoy me the most. The rest of these, I don’t really mind – people can do what they want! Sure, if people like 50 of my posts in a row within 2 seconds of me posting them, I probably won’t be all that interested in checking out their blog either, since they’re clearly looking for easy attention, but I don’t mind them doing it per se. And since I’m very much a YouTube-lurker, I also understand people too intimidated to interact with my blog on the internet 😂 Several of my real life friends actually read it that way, and I don’t mind at all. And I also don’t really care too much about likes – I want to know what people think, so the comments are what makes my day! Honestly, if forgetful people comment but don’t like my posts, I will still absolutely love them 😁 But people who spam me with adds or inappropriate comments? No thank you! 😤

    1. This is one of my favourite posts I have done in a while too haha!

      Ugh ikr! Ah, I see!
I don’t mind lurkers much either, but like when ppl comment and don’t leave a like it just irks me and I don’t even know why. It’s just one of those things, you know?

      Thank you so much Naemi!!

  10. I guess I’m a #8? I simply can’t read all the posts of all the people I follow, but I at least skim before liking or commenting. If I read but can’t think of anything to say, I’ll like. If I have issues with the post but don’t want to get into it in the comments, I’ll read but not like or comment.

  11. this was so much fun to read! tbh at the very start of blogging i was guilty of being the Forgetful Follower 🙈 i just COULD NOT remember to hit the “like” button lmaoo. i would then go back to the post 4623842848 hours later, remember that it had slipped my mind and then like it haha.
    right now i think i’m #8 haha.
