Monthly Wrap-Up | July 2022

July flew. Like literally, one of the fastest months of my life, because I do not know what I did this month. Probably because I did literally nothing. Oh my god, I did nothing this month. *proceeds to have a breakdown*

Hey everyone! Welcome or welcome back to my blog!

First of all, I apologize for the delay in the wrap-up, I was busy doing literally nothing, but I still ended up not being able to post my laptop, and ended up not posting for about a week. Oof, super sorry for the unannounced hiatus, but to be frank it was unintended.

As I said, I do not know where July went, probably because I didn’t have much to do. I did meet a lot of people in the first half of the month, and literally got stranded in the rain (heavy, pouring rain). I mean, yeah that’s about it for the first half of the month.

In the second half of the month though- we got our board results, and considering the fact that I barely studied for the exams, and the fact that my first term sucked, I did pretty well! To celebrate, among the multiple awesome dishes I had, I also tried dragon fruit ice cream, and I have gotta say- tastes yum!!!

I also tried Japanese food for the first time! Like I had tried sushi before, but I tried spicy miso ramen and kombucha, and honestly, loved both the things! I also tried a tofu dish but I can’t quite remember what it was called. But the spicy miso ramen was really good!

I also did quite a bit of shopping for college- I still cannot believe I am going to college, oh my god, I feel so grown up. And even though I am staying in the same city, my parents might allow me to stay in the hostel or dorm or whatever you want to call it- because I do wanna experience the proper college life, you know??

Um, except that, I visited my grandma’s house for her 75th birthday, and that was fun! I am also visiting my paternal grandfather’s house next week, so that’ll be fun too!

Also, my college will probably start by the end of this month, and I reiterate- I cannot believe I am going to be in college.

I also reduced my carbon footprint by deleting some 24k+ emails from my inbox. That was a tough day.

Yeah, that’s about it I guess! Let’s get into the wrap-up!

Books I read this month:

I read like six books this month. Most of which I finished in the first half. I seriously did not do anything this month, dear God.

  1. Perks of Being a Wallflower: ⭐⭐
  2. The Spanish Love Deception: ⭐⭐⭐
  3. Flip the Script: ⭐⭐⭐
  4. Not Cinderella’s Type:
  5. Not With the Band: ⭐⭐⭐.5
  6. All-Star Love: ⭐⭐

Movies, TV shows and YouTube I watched:

I watched the Minions movie, and it was so cute!! Ahhh, I had so much fun!! I also watched Jug Jug Jeeyo, which is a Hindi film, and honestly, it’s just like a typical Bollywood movie from the early 2000s, and it’s not spectacular, but I enjoyed watching the drama and everything.

I also watched The Kashmir Files, and if anyone knows any books on the mass exodus please let me know!

As for TV shows, I started watching Money Heist, and boy, is it long. I am on S2 E7, and it’s gonna take a while for me to finish it. I also am watching Only Murders in the Building every week, and I am loving the chemistry between the three characters!

And yep, still watching Zarry and other 1D edits on YT.

Ahhh, how could I forget, I also watched Stranger Things S4 Vol II! And it was like good, but the season on a whole felt slightly weaker than the previous ones, and they must really give us a great S5!

Songs I heard this month:

I did not have a designated playlist for July, and my music was all over the place, so um, yeah. Here’s the receiptify for the month though, it might give you a vague idea of what I listened to!

Huh, that is a lot of Harry Styles and 1D. Ahem.

Also, WDW stans, assemble, because Daniel Seavey’s Bleed on Me is so good. And oh my god, I feel so bad they went on hiatus but so happy for Bleed on Me! Can’t wait for the other guys’ solo stuff, and manifesting they get over all their legal troubles soon!

My Favourite Blog Posts of the Month:

I actually enjoyed all of the posts I did this month, even though I didn’t really post a lot, so do check em out guys!

My Favourite Blog Posts from around the Blogosphere:

Goals:

  1. Get ready for college!
  2. Have fun with everyone who’s leaving
  3. Be productive

Yep, that’s it! There’s not really much happening in August, so I am not making a calendar!

Let me know in the comments how your July was and what you’re looking forward to in August? Has it rained really heavily where you live as well?

  1. Enjoy doing nothing before college starts, Riddhi! Trust me, you’re going to need it! 😂 I wish you an absolutely epic time, though, and hope you end up learning a lot and really enjoying the experience! Do you know what subject you’re going to focus on yet? (Yes, I’m nosy af 🙃)

Also, you made me so hungry with all those details on the Japanese food! 🤤 But I guess I can forgive you in light of all the mediocre and down-right bad books you read this past month – you’ve been punished enough, it seems…

Anyway, have a great August, and congrats on those board results! 🥳

    1. Ahh, Naemi, thank you!!! I am mostly going to be focussing on Computer Science!

Yep, it was a pretty rough reading month, and August doesn’t seem to be getting any better😭😭

Thanks so much, hope you have a great August as well!

  2. Thanks for the update. Looking forward to catching up on your blogs. I’ve been really tired lately and whatever energy I have, I’ve been binge reading novels on my phone. How are you doing today?

      1. Thanks. It’s tomorrow here. Much better. Only downside is I’m sleepy as I ran out of coffee 2 days ago and my husband keeps forgetting to get me more. And I don’t want to leave my house in the heat to buy coffee and I don’t want to pay extra to have it delivered.

      2. I decided to go a week without coffee as an experiment, but my 3 hour nap begs I need coffee (just woke up) so I’m off to fix a cup.
